The following privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes the types of information that FIRST-PERSON COMMUNICATION, LLC, gathers from those persons visiting the Internet website www.jockipedia.com (the “Site”) and how we use that information. By accessing this Site, you agree to be bound by the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use this Site. Each time you use the Site, the current version of the Privacy Policy will apply. Accordingly, when you use the Site, you should check the date of this Policy (which appears at the top) and review any changes since the last version.
1. General Information
The majority of the pages on the Site are collaboratively developed by registered members of the Site. Anyone who becomes a registered member (and who is not otherwise restricted from doing so) may edit the publicly editable pages of this Site. Registered members who contribute to and/or edit Site pages are identified publicly (by their chosen username) as the author of any contributions or edits. In general, this Privacy Policy applies to the personally identifiable information that registered members supply when signing up as a member of the Site. Such personally identifiable information supplied at the time of registration is not available to the public, except as stated herein.
2. User Accounts/Personally Identifiable
Information: We do not require users to register with the Site in order to view the Site or participate in certain functions of the Site (such as rating an athlete's twitter feeds or blog). If you want to contribute to the Site pages or edit any contributions, however, you must sign up as a registered member. To become a registered member, we collect “personally identifiable information” provided by you, including your name and email address. In addition, during the registration process, you will choose your username and password. Your username will be publicly available when you contribute to or edit the Site pages. Therefore, it is important for you to exercise discretion and appropriate caution when choosing your username.
We may use personally identifiable information provided during the registration process in an effort to enhance the accountability of the contributions to the Site and [ to make offers to you.
3. Sharing, Selling and Trading Personally Identifiable Information Collected Online With Third Parties
We do not share, sell or trade with third parties your personally identifiable information gathered on the Site as part of the member registration process, except as described in this Privacy Policy.
We will not sell, share, trade or otherwise disclose personally identifiable information collected during the member registration process with unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We may share such personally identifiable information with third party service providers, such as companies who send emails on our behalf. 4. Aggregate information
We also collect aggregate information from all visitors to the Site (regardless of whether you are a registered member or not). “Aggregate information” is non-personally identifiable/anonymous information, such as frequency of visits to the Site, Site pages most frequently accessed, search terms entered, browser type, etc. In addition, data on user contributions, such as the times at which registered members edited a contribution, the numbers of edits members made may be collected and aggregated.
5. Sharing, Selling and Trading Aggregate Information Collected Online With Third Parties
We may sell, share or trade compiled aggregate information with third parties. Again, aggregate information is used in a collective manner, and no single person can be identified by that compiled information.
6. Collection and Use of IP Addresses
We may collect IP addresses to obtain aggregate information on the Site. An IP address is a number assigned to your computer by a web server when you are on the web. When you are on our Site, we have a back-end server that logs your computer's IP address. We only use the information we find out from tracking IP addresses in the aggregate, such as how many users entered a specific area of our Site. However, we may use such information to identify a user if we feel that there are or may be safety and/or security issues, to ban a user who is violating the policies on our Site or to comply with legal requirements
7. Contributions to the Site
Please note that registered members are prohibited from making contributions to the Site that disclose any third parties’ private information. For example, registered members are prohibited from posting any persons’ email address, postal address, phone number, Social Security number, credit card numbers or any other information that you do not have a right to post or that you have agreed not to post.
8. Use of Cookies
Cookies are pieces of information which websites transfer to your computer’s web browser for storage on your computer’s hard drive. We use cookies to measure activity on our Site, which allows us to improve navigation throughout our Site. In addition, cookies on the Site may contain information (such as an unique user ID), which tracks the pages of the Site you have visited. The security of your personally identifiable information is important to us and we are committed to handling your information carefully. We restrict access to your personally identifiable information to employees who need to know that information in order to provide services. In addition, we make reasonable efforts to follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personally identifiable information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however.
